About Flynn and Layla

Layla-

Layla is an 8 year old boxer we have had sense she was a tiny pup. Layla was a trouble maker as a puppy, eating trash bags and socks whenever she could, and eating any shoe she could get her tiny paws on. Now, Layla is a much calmer well mannered dog, with a puppy still inside her that sometimes shows itself when we watch her tear around the yard and climb steep hills. She loves to go for bike rides and walks, and meeting new people. She has the run of our property and sleeps in my bed. Layla is spoiled rotten and so very well loved. She loves to cuddle and play with her tiny brother Oliver, a 1 year old mini fox terrier/chihuahua/dachshund mix we adopted as a pup. They both run and jump and play together as long as we will let them! Layla rarely meets a stranger, but if she knows someone isn't safe she steps up as a guard dog and warns us and protects us.

Flynn-

Flynn is a 4 year old quarter horse gelding who was rescued along with his girlfriend, Wildfire or WiFi for short. Wifi and Flynn were in the kill pen at an auction house, where they keep horses that got no bids, and were purchased by a slaughterhouse whether it be to make glue or dog food. They were both underweight severely, and wormy, but perfectly good horses. Flynn is likely from a ranch, as he was untouched. And his girlfriend Wifi has permanent scars from the "breeder" she came from, from likely leaving the halter on her from a young age. I am currently training Flynn, and he is yet to be under saddle. Flynn is a generally level headed horse, but on cool days or when he is just feeling good, he will run laps and buck and play on and off all day. He loves alfalfa cubes and apples, butt scratches and his jolly ball. Flynn learns quickly and usually is very respectful, but can on rare occasion get frustrated and act out. I will be posting his training updates on the blog along with training logs. These logs are not training instruction, so please do not take them as advice.
